PSYCHEDELIC PREPARATION AND INTEGRATION WITH EOSTAR

Psychedelic preparation and integration refer to the practices and processes that people undertake to prepare for and integrate their experiences with psychedelic substances.

Preparation typically involves a range of activities, such as researching the substance, setting intentions, engaging in mindfulness practices, and making any necessary adjustments to one’s physical and mental health. The goal of preparation is to create a safe and supportive environment for the psychedelic experience, which can increase the likelihood of positive outcomes.

Psychedelic Preparation can also refer to working with a coach and get familiar with the process of diving into the great and mysterious unknown.

A psychedelic preparation coach can help equip the psychedelic journeyer with tools that they can later use in the journey to have an easier and deeper experience.  One such example would be teaching them the importance of deep breathing.  Preparation can make all the difference in terms of safety as, particularly for those who are inexperienced or emotionally unstable.

Integration, on the other hand, involves the ongoing process of making sense of and integrating the insights and experiences gained during the psychedelic experience into one’s daily life. This can involve a range of practices, such as journaling, therapy, meditation, and community support. Integration is critical for making lasting changes based on the insights gained from the psychedelic experience.

There are many psychedelic preparation and integration coaches springing up from from the machinery of certified psychedelic integration coaching courses.  But one of the big questions is, how much actual psychedelic experience have these coaches had ?  Another big question is, are they trauma-informed and have they had training in psychology and healing modalities that allow them to be perceptive of their client’s emotional state or psychic challenges?   You might also be wondering what makes them equipped to deal with what is so often a completely transcendental and sometimes challenging process?

When you take psychedelics, the impact can be profound. Some people venture deep into long-held traumas, sometimes experiencing the most painful time in their life as if it were happening right now. Others might see or feel what could really only be described as pure magic –breath-taking imagery, impossible goings-on, a support network of other-worldly beings, colors they never knew could exist. But whatever it is that you’re immersed in during your trip, it has the potential to change you, and the world as you know it, forever.

With more than two decades of psychedelic use, 14 years working with Ayahuasca in ceremonial settings and 7 years of leading ceremonies, I have accumulated  a wealth of experience that I am happy to share with my clients.  I have also studied and practiced various healing modalities that allow me to dive deep into the realms of the subconscious mind and work with my clients to re-program some draining energetic codes, map the various subpersonality parts, process early child-hood and birth traumas and bring the light of awareness to these.

Many people come to me prior to ceremony because they want to acquire skillsets, tools, techniques and strategies for navigation of altered states of consciousness.  Others come to me because they want to have integration sessions and have my guidance to make sense of the “out-of-this-world”expereince they have had.

I am a trauma-informed psychedelic preparation and integration coach.  In my practice I focus on creating a safe and supportive space for individuals who may have experienced trauma or other adverse experiences in the past.  As modern psychology has revealed to us, this actually includes all of us.  We have all experienced birth-trauma, early-childhood trauma and other traumas in our later years, even if some of these have made milder and other stronger imprints on our psyche.

In my practice, I strive to establish trust with my client by creating a safe, non-judgmental space. I do this by actively listening to the individual, validating their experiences, and emphasizing their autonomy and agency throughout the entire process.

Trauma-informed coaching involves identifying potential triggers and developing strategies to manage them. In the context of psychedelic preparation, this might involve assessing what traumatic memories have been most present in the client’s most recent life and developing a plan to manage any resulting anxiety or distress.  We can also use Birth Trauma Release, Parts Work and Inner Child Work techniques to process these as a way to pave the way to a smooth journey.

Mindfulness and grounding techniques can be helpful for managing anxiety and stress during the psychedelic experience. Trauma-informed coaching can incorporate these techniques into preparation, emphasizing their importance and practicing them with the individual.

Trauma-informed coaching involves considering the potential risks and benefits of any intervention, taking into account the individual’s unique experiences and needs. This might involve discussing the potential benefits and risks of psychedelic use, as well as exploring alternatives to psychedelics if appropriate.

Pre- and post integration work is vital for producing the results we all want.  Preparation and integration helps the journeyer increase their understanding of the lessons, learn how to utilize them for self-improvement and positive transformation, accelerate the therapeutic process and sustain the healing indefinitely.  It also decreases the chance for a “bad” or “negative” trip.

Being a “sensitive” helps me in getting attuned to my clients and approach the preparation and the integration of their journey from the place that they are most comfortable at.  My goal is never to dogmatize but rather find out what my clients want to know and where their growth edges may be.

Through the integration of their psychedelic experiences, my clients will receive a rare and precious opportunity to re-live some of the memories from their journey and see themselves and the world once again through the crystal-clear vision of their truest, highest Self.   By doing this work, clients will once again receive a glimpse into their true potential, power, purpose and possibilities, visions of a future that is aligned with the user’s pure essence and spirit.

These visions, felt as ultimate truths and realities in psychedelic experiences, leave their mark on journeyers who then wish to retain these feelings and possibilities and realize them every day.  Psychedelic integration articulates the daily action steps that would get you there. Integration is where the rubber meets the road to turn your visions into your reality.

During psychedelic integration with me, clients will also learn invaluable tools such as breathwork and microdosing – practices that can offer moments of crystal clarity, focus and oneness experiences in daily life.

TESTIMONIALS

“I was nervous before my first Ayahuasca ceremony.   I was not sure what to expect and the unknown was giving me so much fear that I almost bailed out.  This is why I had 3 preparation sessions with Eostar before the actual ceremony.  With her help not only was I was able to learn tools that I later used in ceremony but I was also able to deeply relax into the peace of trusting this ancient and potent medicine.  The overall experience was completely life-changing and liberating.  I feel like I was re-born.”
